Last Saturday.....This Saturday

Last Saturday, we met Alex and Cristina at Esmirada's in Chijmes. Alex surprised us with the announcement that he'd gotten a big promotion at work, so we celebrated. We also wanted to "celebrate" our last weekend on the 24th floor of our building. I'd been saving the Slibovita that Alex gave us some time ago for a special occasion, what better way to celebrate? That stuff is lethal! Whew!!! I chickened out :D

This week and next, our friend Jarek is in town. Alex and Cristina invited Jarek and us to join them for dinner at their place. Alex promised to teach me how to make those yummy mushroom tarts, so I brought my good camera. They are so DELICIOUS! The flavors.....yummy! The batteries don't last long when taking video, so I didn't take any other pictures. I wanted to get the kids in there too, but it didn't work out.

We had a great time eating, drinking, and talking. Cristina invited her friend, Vicky (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly). She brought her two children, Savannah Georgia and Mario. They're wonderful! Her husband is working in Dubai. Vicky grew up in South Africa, but has lived many places in the world. One being South Carolina. Even though she's MUCH younger than I am, we had lots to talk about. She's a really fun gal and I enjoyed her company.

When Michael and I got home, I was looking for something in the cabinet (I don't remember what it was now), but SONOFA............don't ya' know.........there were freakin' ants crawling all over the place! Dammit! In a frenzy, I took everything off the two lower shelves and discovered they were after a bottle of honey that I've had forever. I smooshed all of the ants and dumped that bottle of honey down the rubbish chute. I haven't seen anymore today.

That was probably around 1 am when that happened. I slept in until about 9:30 or 10:00 this morning, and I've been playing around with this video all day. Michael went to the store to get some stuff, and also bought some pork chops for me to cook for dinner tonight. I grilled them on the little electric grill we have.

After he went to bed, I finished working on this video and then decided I should heat up some water to wash the dishes. SONOFA...............!!! After finishing up the dishes, I noticed some water on the floor. Now, I know I'm not the neatest person in the world, but I'm not that sloppy! I looked under the kitchen sink to discover that everything was soaking wet. SOAKING WET!

Everything that I unpacked and so tidily put away last week, is now strewn all over the counters. All of my towels are hanging in the laundry room. What is up with this place??? Is it cursed?...........Yeah, it's cursed alright.......by ME! I was saying every curse word in the book while throwing that stuff out of the cabinet.
