Before my son turned 18 and I used to yell at him, I would occasionally get a real good sentence going and make a joke out of it and we'd both wind up laughing. I think that was about the time he finally figured out, hey, Dad's just doing this authority thing because it's his job to. I never made a good authority figure.

Maybe if I'd been that funny, my sons would've done those 47 things without so much hassle? Nah!
