We're Moving Down....

January 30, we will be moving down 20 floors in the same tower that we're in now. This is such a pain in the a$$! The family that lived in the unit we'll be renting had three children, and I think they must've gone wild in there. There must've been 6 knobs broken from the kitchen cabinets, one cabinet door looks like it had boiling water poured on it, and the place is very dirty. I guess that they didn't use the aircons because the light fixtures are covered in greasy, black gunk.

We looked at the unit 2 years ago, but were unable to lease it because Philips had not officially sealed the deal with Michael. It certainly wasn't that dirty 2 years ago. On the bright side, the living room has built-in cabinets and a ceiling fan (white, but covered in greasy, black gunk) and there is a built-in desk in one of the bedrooms.

The new landlord has agreed to have the place thoroughly cleaned and to somehow repair the cabinets. I'm not sure how they'll manage that because these cabinets are no longer manufactured. We also requested that the aircons be checked and serviced.

Back upstairs on 24, the toilet in our master bath has been leaking off and on for a couple of months. We'll have to pay the plumber $60 to get that repaired on Wednesday (Tuesday is a public holiday for Hari Raya Haji). The aircon has stopped cooling -- again. The aircon company I have a maintenance contract with were out earlier in the week got it cooling again, but their quick-fix only lasted a couple of days. Fortunately, it hasn't been too hot out the past few days.

Did I mention that this is a real pain in the a$$ and our current landlady is a greedy, miserly, nasty person???
